"Understand the asana. Master the adjustment."
A good adjustment can change a student's practice forever. A poor one can cause injury, erode trust, and leave a teacher doubting themselves. The difference lies not in how bold you are — but in how well you understand what you're working with.
Beyond the Asana is an intensive 50-hour training dedicated entirely to the art of adjustment. Over five focused days in Ubud, you'll develop a deep understanding of the main posture families, the anatomy behind them, and the hands-on skills to guide your students into safer, smarter, more embodied movement.
This is not about forcing bodies into shapes. It's about reading what's there, knowing what's possible, and offering the exact touch — or word — that opens the door.
You just finished your YTT and feel overwhelmed translating all that anatomy knowledge into actual hands-on adjustments in a real class. This training bridges that gap — from theory to confident, grounded touch.
Your YTT was done online, which means the hands-on adjustment component was completely skipped. You're starting from zero with no reference point for what a good adjustment even feels like. This is where you build that foundation.
You want to understand what's actually happening in each posture — the structure, the joints, the limits — so you can adjust from genuine understanding rather than imitation.
Before you can adjust anything, you need to understand what you're looking at. We start with a deep dive into the anatomy and biomechanics of the main posture families.
The practical core of the training. You'll learn specific adjustment techniques for the main postures — with an emphasis on sensitivity, economy of effort, and student safety.
Hands-on adjustment is not about pushing or pulling — it's about building coordination with the practitioner. We cover the full ethical framework of touch in a modern, trauma-informed context.
Knowledge becomes skill through repetition. A significant portion of this training is dedicated to hands-on practice with structured peer feedback.
We cover 10–15 postures per category, ranging from beginner to advanced level. The goal is not to tick through a list — but to develop a real understanding of how each posture family works and what quality adjustment looks like at every level.
